Organic cotton is considered as a more sustainable version of cotton. It is grown using natural methods - free from synthetic based fertilisers and involves no pesticides. Cotton fabric as a whole tends to shrink at a high temperature but this is minimal after a few washes, especially with jersey cotton as it is more resilient. Avoid using bleach and fabric softeners as this can weaken the fibres.
Wash
Be sure to turn clothing inside out before washing. It is best to hand or machine machine wash at 30°C or colder on a delicate wash with an eco-friendly detergent. Once washed, remove clothing from the washing machine as soon as possible to reduce any further wrinkling.
Dry
Avoid twisting jersey fabrics when trying to remove excess water as this can cause stretching and damage to the fibres. Whilst damp, carefully pull jersey clothing back into shape. We advise not to tumble dry and instead lay flat out to dry, on a line or hang on a hanger to naturally dry out.
Iron
Cotton jersey doesn't require a lot to make it free from wrinkles. A good steam whilst hanging should help relax the fibres and remove them completely. If it does require ironing, turn the clothing inside out and iron on a medium heat.
Take Note
Colour fading may occur gradually. Avoid using harsh chemicals including strong stain removers to help prevent this.
Please expect a small amount of shrinkage on the first few washes.
