TENCEL™ lyocell is made from wood, a natural, renewable and raw material sourced from responsible and certified forests. Although, not as low-impact as other organic or recycled fabrics, the natural moisture absorbent fibres are better for the environment as they have been deemed both biodegradable and compostable. It is generally soft to the touch and retains this feel throughout its lifespan. The surface texture of TENCEL™ will become less sheeny and will develop more of subtle chalky look once washed and lived in.
Wash
Prior to washing, it is advisable to turn clothing inside out. Hand washing Lyocell clothing is recommended whenever possible. If the use of a washing machine is necessary, opt for a delicate cycle at 30°C or colder, using a non bio detergent.
Dry
The high heat of a tumble dryer is not friendly to TENCEL™ products. It tends to weaken the fabric and causes shrinkage. We advise to gentle reshape whilst damp and air dry by hanging up on a hanger or line.
Iron
Due to its compositions, TENCEL™ lyocell is less prone to wrinkles. However, if you are wanting to get rid of any further creases, try hanging up and gently steaming. If choosing to ironing, keep it on a low-medium heat setting. Lyocell is very sensitive to heat, so avoid using any high-heat.
Take Note
The colour and sheen will fade with wear and time. To prolong this, please handle your clothing with the right care by not using bleach, harsh stain removers or softeners.
Please expect a small amount of shrinkage on the first few washes.
